Pedestrian Sky Ports

These personal space booths are open on top and allow a piece of the sky or ceiling detail to be framed and block out other unwanted views. Their collapsible tent-like construction allows them to be installed quickly and subversively at any public location in need of time-out seats, or personal reflection booths. This work was conceived to add a human element to the Cold Upstate Utica Spring, that I experienced at Sculpture Space. Entirely conceived and executed in Utica.

Depending on where they are placed, they can block out unwanted city elements such as overhead wires, tall buildings, and telephone poles, leaving a frame of untouched sky to look upon.
