Pedestrian Sky Ports
Pedestrian Sky Ports
collapsable steel frame, magnets, tent poles and sport nylon
~ 7' x 28" square (x 3 identical Ports)~ 7' x 28" (x 3 identical Ports)
2007

These Pedestrian Sky Ports are open on top and allow a piece of the sky or ceiling detail to be framed and block out other unwanted views. Their collapsible tent-like construction allows them to be installed quickly and subversively at any public location in need of time-out seats, or personal reflection booths. This work was conceived to add a human element to the Cold Upstate Utica Spring, that I experienced at Sculpture Space. Entirely conceived and executed in Utica.
